I agree that price is a very important factor when buying any product. But Installing a new air
conditioning system requires considerable skill and there are many items that are hidden from the view
of the consumer. Also there are also many items that the consumer is not knowledgeable about. So
how does the consumer know if a company will a complete and reliable job? must rely on the company
to do properly. For example; the size of electrical wiring and copper refrigerant lines. Oh, the system
will work if these are not correctly installed but the wire size is a safety issue and the refrigerant line size
is a functional and economy issue. Many homes have an underground chase that houses the refrigerant
lines. If these are not sealed properly rodents and insects can use these as a path into the house. If the
air handler is located on a wooden pedestal in the garage, the pedestal must be sealed and insulated
to prevent sucking car exhaust, gas fumes or hot air into the home. How would the homeowner know
if these has been done since they are hidden from view? There are only a few of the items that I have
personally observed that are frequently ignored by some companies. The point is, you need a company
you can TRUST.
How can you tell if a stranger is someone you can trust? Does he look trustworthy? Does he sound
trustworthy? Does he look you in the eye? Isn't reputation the only reliable measure of whether a
person or company is trustworthy?
